Hotel Gallo
This small hotel, right in the main village of Tignale, run by Fulvia and Renato has become a real favourite, well known for its good food and friendly atmosphere. (There has to be a reason why Trip Advisor has classed the hotel as excellent!) All the rooms are en suite many with balcony and lake facing. There is an on site swimming pool, small health club with jacuzzi, sun bed, turkish bath and the possibility of booking massage and various beauty treatments plus a panoramic terrace from where there are views onto the lake below and Monte Baldo opposite. What could be better than 'al fresco' dining in the summer sitting on the terrace admiring the view!
Just a few metres from the hotel are the S. Pietro apartments, 4 x 2 bedroom flats for maximum 4/5 persons all tastefully furnished with living/kitchen area, bathroom, balcony and lake view and possibility of air conditioning. This now brings the number of available apartments within 60 metres of the hotel to 6 that can be booked either self catering or half board with meals in Hotel Gallo. Use of hotel facilities included in the price. For more apartments see La Dolce Vita Relais.
Coeliac guests are given a very warm welcome and will find a separate breakfast buffet and a choice of menu for the evening meal. For several years now to make sure there is no chance of cross contamination all flour, breadcrumbs etc used in the kitchen are gluten free!
'Thank you so much for arranging a wonderful holiday and introducing us to the fantastic Hotel Gallo and Tignale. Your being there on day one was so lovely and informative. The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful or welcoming. They made my first foreign gluten free holiday so stress free and relaxing. We enjoyed the food and wine immensely - we would love to return and explore more of Lake Garda in the future.' Alison & Nigel Sept 2019
. 'Thanks for finding us such a lovely apartment (Begonia owned by Hotel Gallo) for our stay on Garda. We loved the garden, the coolness and space in the apartment and it was so handy for everything in Tignale as well. Thanks too for your tips on the first day - it was very helpful to be able to What's App you (Gilli) for answers to any queries during our stay. Hotel Gallo staff were lovely to us and it was nice to have them there although we mainly enjoyed either cooking ourselves or getting a pizza!' Jill & Robert June 2019
'We just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our holiday and thank you for recommending. It was a delightful place with such lovely staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was all we had hoped for and the food was great. It was relaxing for me not having to worry about what I was eating. The countryside is magical and we enjoyed walking and exploring with just the sound of birdsong to accompany us. We will certaily go back again.' Mia & Ian June 2017
'We have just enjoyed the most amazing holiday at Hotel Gallo. It has been a total success and the best holiday we have experienced certainly since Amanda was diagnosed as being coeliac. We found the rooms comfortable, clean with stunning views of the lake. All the staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating, particularly when it came to offering advice on menu options. We also took your advice and embraced the whole experience by eating lunch out in Verona, Torri del Benaco and Salò and on every occasion we found delicious gf and df options. So a massive 'Thank You' for reassuring us that the hotel understood and could provide delicious and safe food and for offering us lots of advice for making the most of our holiday'. Pete, Amanda & Hannah August 2016
'Just to say a big thank you for a great holiday - we are so impressed - can't fault it in any way. The GF provision was exceptional'. Judy & Graham July 2016.

"Hotel la Palma is excellent, a top class hotel with a fantastic restaurant. The staff went to great lengths to cater for my wife's gluten free diet. The Sky Bar was a real treat, and the easy stroll into Stresa town makes a great after dinner walk. Parking at the hotel was easy". Robert & Rita. August 2014
