Venice
Venice & Venice Rooms is ideally situated on the first floor of an elegant building in a quiet area of the well known Cannaregio district of Venice but at the same time very close to Rialto Bridge and an approximate 10 mins walk from St. Mark's Square, the Accademia Galleries and other well known landmarks. Although no longer officially classified as bed & breakfast the apartment with its 3 rooms each with private bathroom is far more than just a room rental. During Covid it was not possible to offer a self service breakfast buffet so Monica modified the comunal areas and now offers each room with fridge, kettle and a welcome tray containing tea/coffee, biscuits, muffins etc. Since you will actually be living in what was originally her home there is a fully equipped comunal kitchen available for use should you buy extra food for breakfast or decide to eat a meal in. There is also a room with a wood beamed ceiling which serves as a place to relax, read a book or even watch TV - as you would do in your own house! The garden is available to the guests and there is free Wi-fi throughout the building. The nearest waterbus stops are Rialto, Cà d'oro or Fondamente Nove which, for those arriving at Venice Marco Polo, is one of the Alilaguna airport transfer stops. Monica will supply you with a free city map and give you all the information and tips you need as to what to see and where to go so as to make your stay in Venice a memorable one.
On the ground floor of the same building is the Zen apartment with double bedroom, living room with kitchen plus bathroom, suitable for 2 people who are happy to self cater and available from min 2 night stay to those of you wanting a longer stay and the privacy of eating a snack at 'home' after a tiring day of sightseeing.
'What a gem you have found. Within walking distance of all the main sights and set in an old palazzo to boot. The rooms are very comfortable and our room overlooked a canal - definitely better than overlooking a main road! Monica made us feel so welcome and even got us a gluten free apricot pie to go with our breakfast. A great place for a long weekend getaway.' Venice & Venice Rooms 3 bedrooms are large and airy - 2 of them look out onto the canal of Santi Apostoli and one of them can take a third bed. They all have tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, a ceiling fan and each has its own private bathroom with either bath or shower and hairdryer on the landing. On the ground floor of the building is the Zen House, a fully equipped apartment for 2 persons and also other apartments nearby should you prefer self catering.
No matter the length of stay, the first places that come to mind when visiting Venice are in fact St. Mark’s Square with its Campanile (bell tower) the Basilica and the Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, the area around the Rialto Bridge and then a trip to the islands of Murano famous for its glass, Burano for its brightly coloured houses and lace making and Torcello. The longer your stay the more you can take in the architecture of the historical buildings, the churches and museums; the Gallerie dell’Accademia (the gallery of fine arts), the Arsenale enclosed by its medieval wall, the Ghetto (Jewish quarter) in the Cannaregio district to name just a few places well worth a visit. However probably the best way to see Venice and get the feel of this wonderful city is to just wander round the narrow streets and across the bridges away from the main tourist areas. If you prefer and to help you make the best of your stay Monica can book a city guide for you who will accompany you and show you the hidden gems of Venice!
In almost every narrow street or square you will find small restaurants and if the locals are eating there, the food will certainly be good! For those of you who need a gluten free diet the following restaurants and a pizzeria have been recommended by people who have eaten there: Antico Gatoleto - Cannaregio 6055 (very close to the B&B); A La Vecia Cavana - Cannaregio 4624; Ristorante A Beccafico in CampoS. Stefano near Accademy Bridge; Da Raffaele in Fondamenta De Le Ostreghe; Oke Zattere pizzeria - Dorsoduro 1414: Da Brogi in Rioterà della Maddalena; Frary’s – San Polo 2559; Al Giardinetto ‘Da Severino’ - Castello 4928.
