Hotel Castello is a 4* hotel situated in the historical centre of Malcesine but at the same time in a quiet position at the foot of the Scaligero Castle which dominates the village. As its full name implies Hotel Castello Lake Front is right by the lakeside and leading on from the garden with its colourful umbrellas and sun loungers, the private beach seems to be a natural continuation of the hotel itself. All the main areas of the hotel such as dining room, bar, lounge and terrace enjoy panoramic views onto the lake so very easy to spend time soaking up the sun on the private beach or the pontoon, swimming in the lake or sipping an aperitivo on the terrace admiring the view. The main entrance to the hotel where you will find reception, bar, lounge and the panoramic terrace is on the 1st floor whereas the dining area leading out to the garden and lake is on the ground floor. There are several room types of 20 sq . or 25 sq.m, all en suite and with air conditioning, some on the ground floor with or without terrace and then others on the first and upper floors all with balcony or terrace and lake views. If you are looking for something special there are also some newly built very 'smart' suites to choose from. The hotel restaurant, renowned for the quality and presentation of its food, serves a buffet breakfast and instead of a set half board menu, guests wishing to eat in the hotel in the evenings can choose daily from the à la carte menu and enjoy a small discount on the list price. There is also a very good choice of wines. Coeliac guests are welcome. Since Malcesine offers several restaurants and pizzerie offering gluten free food this gives you the best of both worlds - choose whether to eat in the hotel or have a couple of nights out strolling round Malcesine and eating at other restaurants!

Malcesine is one of the best known villages on Lake Garda, full of shops, bars and restaurants and the imposing Scaligero Castle, very popular with couples getting married on Garda, facing out onto the lake. For those who enjoy water sports there are nearby schools where you can learn to sail, windsurf or kite surf. From Malcesine using public transport - boat or bus - you have good access to other lakeside villages such as Garda, Bardolino, Sirmione ,Salò at the southern end or Limone and Riva to the north. Market day in Malcesine is Saturday but if that is not enough you also have Castelletto on Tuesdays, Torri del Benaco on Mondays and Bardolino every Thursday! It is also not far to the Gardaland, Movie World and Caneva theme parks or the Sigurtà Gardens. Just 150 mts from the hotel is the valley station of the cable car that takes you to the top of Monte Baldo. Wherever you stand great views are assured as the cable car revolves a full 360° as it climbs! Be sure to leave time to visit the historic cities of Verona and Venice, either on an organised excursion or using local buses and trains.

How to arrive
Airports: Verona 60km; Milano Bergamo 134km. (Low cost flights from several UK and Irish airports with Easyjet, Monarch, Jet2, Flybe and Aerlingus to Verona and Ryanair to Milano Bergamo.)
From Verona Reasonably priced transfer bus;
BY CAR turn right out of airport and then left onto dual carriageway going north. Follow green motorway signs and join A22 motorway north and exit at AFFI – Lago di Garda. Follow signs to GARDA. In Garda town turn right direction Torri del Benaco and follow to Malcesine. Pass bus station and immediately straight on at roundabout and at mini roundabout (opposite road to cable car) turn left. Go down the hill and into hotel car park on the left.
From Bergamo By car; turn right out of the car hire depot, turn right again and then filterleft into the main road and follow green motorway signs and onto A4 direction Venezia. Take Peschiera exit, follow to Peschiera Centre and Lazise, then Garda and up the eastern side of the lake, passing Lazise, Bardolino, Garda and Torri del Benaco. In Malcesine as above.

The hotel pricing is per ROOM per day - 2 people sharing a Twin/Double room Bed & Breakfast. Dinner is available in the main restaurant with a choice of dishes from the à la carte menu. Bookings of 4 nights or less will only be confirmed from approximately 1 month before the proposed travel date.
