Hotel Toscana Verde, just 2kms from Laterina, has a view onto farmhouses and the rolling hills typical of Tuscany. Surrounded by trees, this impressive and elegantly restored building, once used for drying tobacco leaves is now a hotel complex, an ideal place for a relaxing holiday. The hotel restaurant serves a mixture of Tuscan and international cuisine and in the summer meals are served 'al fresco' on the terrace overlooking the park. The hotel, just visible above the tree tops on the hillside 2kms from the the small village of Laterina is in an area full of vineyards and olive trees. However, until approx 30 years ago it was also a tobacco growing centre, with the leaves being dried in large buildings, several of which can still be seen today.
Whether you visit Toscana Verde in the summer when you can spend time sitting round the pool or on the terrace sipping an aperitif in the early evening or during the rest of the year, this part of Tuscany has much to offer. The cities of Arezzo with its antiques fair on the first Sunday of the month, Florence with its magnificent marble cathedral, Siena, famous for the Palio horse race twice a year round the main square, Cortona and Pienza are all within easy reach - and a day travelling through 'Chiantishire' with a stop in Radda to admire the view should not be missed! Also not to be missed is the Tuscan food and wine! But beware, if you ask for a 'bistecca' (normally a small steak) in this part of Italy you will end up with an enormous T-Bone steak that falls off each side of your plate!

From Florence take the motorway 'Firenze - mare' west away from Florence and then the A1 motorway south towards Roma.
From Pisa, 'Firenze - mare' east towards Firenze or the dual carriageway FI-PI-LI direct from the airport towards Firenze and then at Scandicci onto the A1 southbound. Exit at Valdarno and follow the main road towards Levane and Arezzo. Dopo Levane turn left to Laterina. 3km after the village of Laterina the hotel is on the right hand side. Car hire is recommended to enjoy the resort and surrounding area to the full. By public transport from Pisa - Train to Florence station, change trains to Arezzo. Hotel will organise transfer for a fee from Arezzo to hotel or from any airport.
Prices are per person per day bed & breakfast sharing a twin/double room en suite. Although not on the list for coeliacs, gluten free breakfasts are available. However advance booking necessary.
